It’s day 16 in  #Trust30, an online initiative and 30-day writing challenge that encourages you to look within and trust yourself.

Prompt #16

Wholly Strange and New by Bridget Pilloud

When good is near you, when you have life in yourself, it is not by any known or accustomed way; you shall not discern the foot-prints of any other; you shall not see the face of man; you shall not hear any name;—— the way, the thought, the good, shall be wholly strange and new. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Can you remember a moment in your life when you had life in yourself and it was wholly strange and new? Can you remember the moment when you stopped walking a path of someone else, and started cutting your own?

Write about that moment. And if you haven’t experienced it yet, let the miracle play out in your mind’s eye and write about that moment in your future.

Yes, I remember the moment quite well. I was going through life quite happily…I thought I was anyway. And then BAMM, got hit with a tsunami of a panic attack. Life for me would never be the same. It was Wholly Strange and New!

Basically, it took everything I thought I knew about Life, and chucked it right out the door. ‘We are starting new,’ Life said. And though I resisted, pushed against and fought that change, at one point I surrendered (and by surrender I don’t mean giving up…I mean I totally accepted what was going on).

Then slowly conditioned patterns, thoughts and beliefs became visible to me. I started to question every belief I had, every conditioned pattern I followed and every self-limiting thought that showed itself in my mind.

And then slowly I began to get it…..Life had a new plan for me…..and it consisted of cultivating and walking on a new path………..a path that was forged one footstep at a time.
