When I Look In Your Eyes, I See Me
First Listed November 24, 2008
It’s taken me a long time to get here, and I’m still growing and practicing. To get where you may ask? It’s to get to the point where I feel a connection to all. You are an amazing being and were put on this earth for a purpose. I am an amazing being and was put here on this earth for a purpose too.
I believe we are all connected. When I look in your eyes, I see me – there’s no separation between us. We are, in fact, made of the same essence that all creation is made of. Your skin may be a different color, your eyes and hair too. You may be thinner than I, or more coordinated or funnier, but those are our characteristics and qualities, some of which came from the DNA of our parents and of those prior.
There are times when I feel this vision becomes distorted and hurts to believe that I could be One with others; of the same essence. These are times when I see others getting hurt by those they love, or by complete strangers. It’s times when I see an animal mistreated. It’s times when I hear someone degrade someone else because of the color of their skin or by the clothes they are wearing. It’s when I see someone walk away with their head hanging low due to low self-esteem because they believed the degrading words said to them by another.
But then I hear Eckhart Tolle’s voice when he quotes Jesus from his audio book, The Power of Now:
“Forgive them for they know not what they do.”
How could they know? If they were the slightest bit mindful or awakened, I believe in no way would another being hurt another. Why do people intentionally hurt others? At times, most times, I can’t understand this, but then that quote above goes through my head and I understand once again. I believe those who hurt others are too much in their ego mind and all those egoic thoughts still have control over them. I feel they are not in touch with their feelings and have pushed them way down deep into their soul so they do not feel.
This is why one of my missions is to get others to use their senses as a pathway to presence. Scent has such a powerful ability to bring us into the ‘here and now.’ Even if a scent brings you to the past for a moment, it still gets you out of your head and into your body. If you smell the scent of apple pie and it reminds you of your grandma’s house, don’t you just stop for a moment, inhale that scent in, close your eyes and remember the warm, cozy feelings you had when visiting your grandma and eating that pie? This is just an example. You may have a different scent that brings you into the moment.
I know my step-father told me of the memory he had from France when he smelled the Lavender I was working with one day when I was making products. It brought such a smile to his face -I could tell it brought him totally into the moment.
This is what I do daily when I use my products. I really use them, not just throw them on while thinking of other things I have to do that day. After I shower and massage Balance Body Oil all over my body, I am whisked off to a field full of Lavender and Geranium Rose flowers and instantly put at ease.
I wish this same amazing aromatic oasis for you.
With gratitude,
Gina
What’s your opinion? Do you believe an enlightened, or ‘awakened’ being could intentionally harm another being? Have you ever had a scent take you into a far away land, totally freeing your mind of all thoughts?

Hey Y,
Love you too!
You are beautiful too – we all are, we just lost connection with that part of us – that’s why I do what I do – it’s worth it even if just one person gets a glimpse of who they truly are.
Much love,
Gina

I cannot name the scent…I wish I could…but there is a specific scent that reminds me of Sunday’s at Nana’s…it must be something to do with laundry or cleaning, because my cousin’s house occasionally reminds me of it. It is a comforting time for me. I look for it every time I go to my cousin’s house.

katie, maybe it’s that fresh scent of laundry after being cleaned and hung out to dry on a fresh, crisp day…oh I can smell it already……..mm,mmm, fresh!
