The Little Gremlins Are Trying To Take Me Over!

First Listed May 3, 2010

I’m bloated, have heart burn and feel little twinges of pain in my chest (that’s the chronic costocondritis that I have).

I’m sore from my yoga practice yesterday and guess I inflamed the ligaments in my chest, plus being that time of month doesn’t help either.

So I could react to all this, or I can respond. Let’s check out the difference!

Let’s say I go all out and totally react. It can look something like this:

………….this sucks………i hate feeling like this………..ugh

…………..why me?………..why did i have to be born with hormones?………when is this going to end?

…………..I’ll go eat some ice cream…………maybe that will make me feel better…………why did

I have to get stuck with these genes!

Now let’s look at what what responding would feel like:

………I don’t like these feelings but I know this too shall pass……..inhale……….exhale…….

………inhale…………exhale………..I’m going to let my body rest a few minutes and take

a much needed break……inhale……….exhale…………..I know my body is sending me some signals…

….I’ll be sure to stay aware so I can hear the messages……..think I’ll inhale a little Lavender…….ahhh

So which of the two situations above makes you feel better when you read it? What one feels like it is flowing, and which one feels like it is resisting?

Accepting what is in every moment allows life to flow through you. When life is allowed to flow through you, you practice what I call surrender.

Surrender, to me, is non-resistance – it’s resisting nothing. Easy? No. But this practice is so worth it to me because I desire to live a life of peace while I’m here.

This is the time when supportive tools and rituals can help you raise your inner vibration back up to a higher level and start feeling more in balance and able to accept the chaos that will, at times, come into your life.

The one tool you always have right with you is the Breath. The Breath can help release energy blockages and tension and bring you back into your body and out of the chaotic chatter of your mind.

Next time you feel the gremlins start to move in, stop and inhale~enjoy~exhale. Gremlins cannot survive in a state of pure awareness! Try it and let us know how it goes.

How about you…..where in your life could you practice a little more surrender? What do you resist, or hold onto? Do you have tools in place to help you get back to center when you feel the little gremlins trying to take you over? Share below!

Inhale~Enjoy~Exhale,

Gina
