The DR.’s Show Said It’s So

I just put on the TV as I was making my breakfast and the show that was on is called The Dr.’s. I’ve watched bits and pieces of this show before as I prepared breakfast in the past, but I had to sit down and listen to them when I heard them talking about the ‘S’ word………STRESS!
And I have to say I was excited when they said 4 things that people can do/use to alleviate stress (some of which may sound familiar to you).

We all experience stress throughout the year, but it can be amped up to a mega-level around the holidays.
In my own experience, and from what I see go on around me, stress is the major cause of many ailments. I don’t believe the holidays were meant to be this stressful, do you?
It’s also ironic to me, that this time of year with the occurrence of Winter Soltice (which is today – Happy Soltice!), we are meant to go within, into the darkness and slow down, even sleep more if needed....

Unnecessary Baggage

Are you carrying around your past?
I did -and still do sometimes- it’s a work in progress. But it can be a bit destructive to the quality of your life if you are constantly thinking about, and therefore living in, your past. It becomes a heavy burden, carrying around some memories which still stir up emotions in the present moment. Such emotions can be guilt, resentment, fear, grief or anger. Of course the past has important experiences that we can visit briefly in our minds to learn from....
