Growing UP
First Listed April 11, 2011
I’m married, have a house, have a pet, working, making my own food, over 18………wow, I must be all grown up!
That’s maybe what I thought ‘grown up’ meant a few years ago. Now, it has a whole other meaning!
What it means to me now is moving up on the awareness meter, on the scale of consciousness and from the heart chakra on upwards!
Let me explain a little about this journey of ‘growing up through the chakras’:
The first 3 primary chakras deal more with the physical aspects of life, necessities, food, shelter and other outer manifestations of life…..and then you hit the heart chakra, (the center of love and compassion) and the transition point to the higher primary chakras, 5, 6 & 7. The heart chakra, I feel, is a turning point, a transition where you either choose to grow up, or grow old.
By choosing to grow up, the journey then continues to move upward through the top 3 chakras that follow the heart: the throat chakra, the third eye chakra and the crown chakra.
These top 3 chakras represent the inner journey. Leaving the world of matter (the lower 3 chakras) we take the leap from the heart chakra to enter the world of spirit………..Now that’s what I call ‘growing up’.
My daily happenings and experiences play a huge role in what I decide to write about here at the blog. Today it was a quote I read at Facebook that was posted by Pratima Skin Care (wonderful skincare BTW).
Here’s the quote that inspired this blog post:
“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.”
~E.E.cummings’
This quote really got me thinking about how much I agree with its message. It’s so much easier to wear the masks or decide not to show up in the world.

Yeah Gina, I agree, when you reach the heart chakra its a choice but a really big one. It takes alot of courage to “leave” the material world with all the masks you’ve been cultivating and jump into the unknown. And ironically sometimes all it takes is a glimpse of that unknown to feel that that is the true world where no masks are necessary. After that freedom kicks in the true journey begins, a more courageous, liberating, expanding, peaceful, road that you’ve been looking for all your life. Looking back at my path through the lower chakras I admire all the lessons I have learned and now look forward to every day with excitement to see what new lessons there are from this vantage point. I can only say one thing…..the view from here is spectacular!!!
Take care xoxo

Hey Olivera! I love what you wrote. I too admire the lessons I’ve learned, and still am learning at times from those 3 lower chakras. They built the foundation and now like you said, I’m also looking forward to the journey upward as the vantage point changes and moves and flows.
Thanks for sharing!
