Get Some Alone~Time – a little story – Part 2

First Listed February 4, 2011

As Casie lies under the covers, she starts to dream of what her life could be like. She see visions of her happier self.

‘How do I get there?’ she whispers as her eyelids begin to get heavier and heavier.

Casie stands in the middle of a field of white and yellow daisies. The sun is shining high in the sky and Casie tilts her head up to feel the warmth of the sun’s rays on her cheeks. She feels happy and energized. She starts to skip through the field, allowing her hands to gently brush against the flowers. She stops for a moment and bends down to smell a patch of daisies. ‘Ahhhhhh’……….she takes a nice deep inhale in, enjoying the aroma, and then exhales with a big smile.

She continues to walk through the field and she sees a wooden table under a big tree up ahead. As she gets closer, she sees the table is filled with all her favorite art supplies…..thick colorful markers, watercolors, brushes and oodles and oodles of drawing paper. She remembers how she used to love to create her works of art. She sits down and begins to doodle.

“Oh how I miss making my sacred creations,” Casie says to herself as she remembers how good it feels to hold an art brush in her hands and effortlessly sweep it across the paper, letting her brush and intuition guide her to create the next stroke.

{What did you used to create? Art? Beautiful cakes? Quilts? Frames? Pottery? Photos?

How did you feel when you were creating?}

As Casie finishes her masterpiece, she holds it up and twirls in circles with her new creation. “Wow, I can’t believe I ignored this part of me for so long! I feel alive!” Casie exclaimed.

Casie plops to the ground and lies among the swaying daisies. She looks up at the sky and realizes she is worthy of happiness. “I’ll never lose this part of me again,” Casie softly whispers, as if telling herself a little secret.

Bong, Bong, Bong…….Casie’s alarm sounds off. She opens her eyes & pulls the covers down. Casie smiles as recalls every single moment of the dream she just had, down to every last minute detail.

She jumps out of bed, realizing she is feeling much better. She walks over to the bedroom window and lifts it up. She sticks her head out, closes her eyes, and feels the warmth of the morning sun on her cheeks. She smiles and takes a nice deep breath. ‘It’s never too late,’ she thinks to herself. And with a skip in her step, and a glimmer in her eye, she knows what to do next.

Stay tuned for Part 3 to discover Casie’s plan of action…..
