Build Your Coat!
First Listed December 15, 2010
I’ve been watching the scurrying squirrels, actively and busily hunting and gathering food for the winter. There were 2 outside today on the back patio and I noticed how much heavier they looked with their thickened winter coat and added weight. They were symbols for readiness and preparedness.
It got me thinking how winter time is usually a darker time for a reason – but by darker, I do not mean depressed. What I do mean is nature is showing us it’s a time to turn inward. The days are shorter and the sky is full of deep, midnight blues and grays. The air is cold and the wind is howling. It’s a time to nurture, rest and build our coat so we are ready to unveil ourselves once again and bloom.
So I ask you, how will you build your coat this winter?
How will you nurture yourSELF so you will be full of engaging activity when it’s time to bloom outward once again?
I’ll take the talking stick and share the ways I’m building my coat and then I pass the talking stick on to you…..
