A Recipe for Radiant Skin and Glowing Confidence!

First Listed November 26, 2010

Your skin is the largest organ of your body!

And it does so much for you! Your skin is a great protector, shielding us from unwanted invaders, as well as a great communicator, telling us when something’s up (think of goose bumps or the blush of a face). It needs natural nourishment just like your body needs nourishment of healthy, natural food to keep it working properly. The environment has changed quite a bit throughout the years and your skin needs a little more attention these days to stay in tip top shape.

Take the time now to examine your skin. Most people do not pay too much attention to their skin unless there’s a problem. Your skin needs attention all year round – when it’s exposed during the hot months and even when it’s covered up during the cooler months.

So check your skin out now. Look at it but most importantly, feel it. Do you feel any dryness or rough areas (check out the elbows, knees and heels!!)

It’s time to take action and get your skin in shape. I’m not promising any miracles, but what I can tell you is that your skin will feel so good when you take care of it. It’s amazing what happens when you start taking care of yourself, even if it’s just starting with your skin. You will feel more confident taking this one step, and this will lead to more positive steps taken in other areas. Your skin is a part of your body, and once you start taking care of that part, other parts will follow.

I bet we all can think of someone who is not happy with his or her body – are you one of them? You may feel you need to lose a few pounds or tighten up some areas by starting a workout program. But whatever body you are in now, I can guarantee you that you will feel more confident when your skin is glowing with radiance!

So what’s the best way to softer, smoother skin? Start using an all natural body scrub.

Here is a wonderful dead sea body scrub recipe using natural ingredients:

  • 3 ounces Dead Sea salts
  • 1 1/2 ounces jojoba
  • 30 drops grapefruit essential oil
  • 10 drops lime essential oil
  • 15 drops lavender essential oil
  • You can find all these ingredients here (affiliate link)

Combine jojoba and essential oils in a jar and mix well. Slowly add Dead Sea salts, mixing as you add them. When all mixed, cap jar and store away from heat and light. Use your scrub once a week on your entire body, avoiding face and other sensitive areas. You may need to stir your scrub before each use if the ingredients separate.

It takes me less than 3 minutes to massage the scrub on my entire body – yes, that is it, 3 minutes! Can you spare 3 minutes out of your week to take care of your skin?  It feels so good while you’re massaging it on, getting your circulation going and you will absolutely love how your skin feels afterwards.

Here’s some of my secret body scrub tips:

  1. For younger looking hands, massage the body scrub on them 1-3 times a week and be sure to rub it on your cuticles and nails (if you don’t have polish on). Then massage a little body oil on them. It makes your nails so smooth and they look manicured without having gotten a manicure!!
  2. Use on your feet at night before going to bed. Do this at least once a week. Then rub some body oil on your feet when they are still damp to lock in the moisture – just a little is needed and it will soak in and it won’t get on your sheets – just remember to use sparingly (unless your putting socks on).
  3. Use the scrub on your legs right before you shave. Rinse the scrub off well then shave using your favorite natural product. The scrub gets all the dead skin off for a smoother shave. Then massage on a little body oil for really soft, smooth, touchable legs.

I would love to hear your comments!
