Ayurveda Tip: Cold or Warm Water?

This is another great tip by Janet Gomez. I’ve been drinking room temperature water for several years now but I just recently started to waiting to consume liquids at least 30 minutes prior to or after eating a meal because according to Ayurveda, it’s easier for your body to digest the food you just ate without consuming liquids with your meal. My Sweet Summer Snack

I’ve heard and read about how good frozen grapes are. Well, I finally tried them – and now I think I’m addicted…..ok, not really addicted, but really, really enjoy them! I bought some organic red grapes from Whole Foods last week and they were so delicious – just how I like them, hard, crunchy and sweet! So I decide to freeze some. That night I had a few frozen ones and what a sweet treat! I bought more yesterday and froze a bunch more and I’ve definitely found...

Core Strengthening

Warming up…..When I start my yoga practice, I start with a sun salutation where I hold each pose within the sun salutation for at least 3 breaths, starting with mountain pose. This gets my body warmed up and ready for my practice. Stronger core…..I’ve also been holding plank pose, which is pictured above, longer and longer. I’m up to 10 breaths. This has really helped strengthened my core muscles – back and stomach. I think this has also been helping me with my handstand...
